Unable to save Mp3 File sent over iMessage

I've had this work before, idk why it's suddenly not working.

Within iMessage, I hold down on the file, click save, then nothing happens. It is not saving anywhere. I’ve checked Files and can't find it anywhere.

Note, this in regards to mp3 and wav audio files NOT voice or audio messages.

iPhone SE, iOS 16

It was great, I could use my Mac and send a file to a singer. She could hear it on her phone, without compression. At some point, one of the updates changed what iMessage does with a 24-bit .wav file. It changes it into a .m4a file. I haven't seen any setting where I can disable this. I know that there are other apps I can use for sharing, but iMessage has been so easy and convenient to use. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Audio messages not playing on FB messanger Hi, i was wondering why i can not play any audio messages i receive on the facebook messenger. the messages are not corrupt as i can still open them on my iphone, yet not on the Mac!

Many MP3 files are Digital Rights Protected. They cannot be freely distributed.
