USB Ethernet adapter stopped working after IOS 16.5 upgrade

I recently updated my Ipad Air Gen 3 to IOS 16.5 ( using the OEM Apple usb ethernet adapter A1277 connected through the OEM Apple USB Camera Adapter A1619 ) . At the end of the IOS update process, my IPad screen displayed a message " Cannot Use Accessory : Apple USB Ethernet Adapter: This accessory requires too much power ". What's the IOS issue now? I never had this problem with earlier IOS levels. I've always used this

ethernet connection method for system updates because its faster than my slow-poke wifi connection. Is a fix available?

iPad Air 3, iPadOS 16

As you may be aware, many USB accessories (such as the Apple USB Ethernet Adapter) require more power than the iPad’s Lightning port can alone provide - and as such requires the iPad Power Adapter to be connected via the Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter’s pass-through power connector

Subsequent to the iOS/iPadOS 16.5 update, there is an issue with charging the iPad (or powering external USB devices) from USB Type-A Power Adapters via the USB3 Camera Adapter - regardless of the Power Adapter’s power output.

The current workaround, pending a software update to fix the issue, is to use an Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter with a USB-C to Lightning charging cable.
