Family sharing is on, but iCloud storage says it’s full. Sign-out/in iCloud didn’t help

I have a family sharing on, but it says my iCloud storage is full. Signing out and back in iCloud, as somebody recommended, didn’t help. Even though it can be sometimes resolved temporarily by the family organizer re-inviting me, the issue eventually reoccurs. Please help! Thank you so much!!!

Hi Nks0201,

To help us better assist you, can you let us know more about the issue? For example, does it appear that your account isn't sharing your family's iCloud plan? If so, please check out this link, and ensure the requirements listed there have been met successfully, so we can make sure there aren't any issues there: Share iCloud+ with your family

Share iCloud+ with everyone in your family

To share iCloud+, you need iOS 11 or later, iPadOS, or macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later. For the best experience, make sure that your family members' devices meet these requirements, too.

3. Tap Subscriptions.
4. Tap iCloud+.
5. Follow the steps to share your existing plan.
6. Use Messages to let any family members with an existing iCloud+ plan know that they can now switch to your shared iCloud+ plan.
In iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 or earlier:
1. If you haven't set up Family Sharing yet, set up Family Sharing
2. Go to Settings > [your name].
3. Tap Family Sharing.
4. Tap iCloud+.
5. Follow the steps to share your existing plan.
6. Use Messages to let any family members with an existing iCloud+ plan know that they can now switch to your shared iCloud+ plan.

On your Mac

In macOS Ventura or later:
1. If you haven't set up Family Sharing yet, set up Family Sharing
2. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Family.
3. Click Subscriptions, then choose iCloud+.
4. Click Share with Family.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions.
In macOS Monterey or earlier:
1. If you haven't set up Family Sharing yet, set up Family Sharing
2. Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Family Sharing.
3. Click iCloud Storage.
4. Click Share.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions.

If you're unable to access your family's shared content, please check out this link as well, which explains what to do: If you can't find your family's shared content

Thanks!

Hello Nks0201,

We're glad to hear that removing and inviting you to the family sharing again has resolved the issue. If this should happen again, without any changes being made, then we'd advise to contact Apple Support. They'll be able to take a further look into why this keeps happening.

In the meantime, here's the information about sharing an iCloud+ plan:

Hi, thanks for the tip!

But yes, I did confirm that I was sharing the family plan when this storage issue occurred. I did see the family members names in Settings - Family and other items such as Subscriptions, Location Sharing, etc. But the storage was not shared and it said it was full.

As a temporary solution, I asked my husband (family plan organizer) to re-invite me to the family plan and after that I got to share the family storage. But as it did in the past, the issue will occur again, so I am looking for a permanent solution.

Thank you so much for your help and I appreciate your inputs!!!
