I just bought a Mac mini and trying to set it up. I connected power cable to mini Mac and HDMI cable to HP monitor. Nothing is displayed on the monitor, am I missing additional set-up?

Is this a new Mac mini, or new to you? (I’ll assume new.)

Is the monitor plugged into power, and turned on?

Once you have it all connected, press the power button on the back of the Mac.

Use a 4K HDMI Cable.

The HP monitor probably has controls that enable you to set its video in port. Double-check that you have it configured for an HDMI port and not any other default port.

If this is a 4K HP monitor, then advisably, you should be using a new, not five-year old HDMI cable that is capable of 4K quality.

How long is the cable?
