Messenger is installed on my phone. It is not listed as installed on my watch. Under “notifications” on the watch, it is not listed either. However, I am receiving messenger notifications on my watch. How do I stop receiving notifications from apps (Messenger) that do not appear to be installed on my watch?

Yes, because I do want to receive them on my phone. It’s always been set to that setting. In the past, I had “mirror iPhone alerts” turned off in Watch settings.
It’s strange to me that it’s not even showing up as an installed app now on my watch.
OK. Let's look at Notifications on your iPhone (not the Apple Watch App).
Open Settings App on your iPhone
Open Notifications
Scan down to Messenger
Do you have notifications turned on for Messenger?
Messenger cannot show as an installed app on Apple Watch as Facebook has discontinued support for Messenger on Apple Watch altogether. The App no longer exists, which is unfortunately a decision Facebook chose to make.
I just don't understand why in the Watch App, when you open Notifications and scan way down to "Mirror iPhone Alerts From" and then scan further down that list, Messenger isn't there. It is absolutely there on my Apple Watch App on my iPhone in the Notifications page.
Open the Watch App on your iPhone. Tap Notifications.
Scan further down till you see Mirror iPhone Alerts From and turn off Messenger
That’s the thing, Messenger isn’t showing there. It’s not showing anywhere on my watch.
Are you looking on your watch or as I suggested in the Watch App on your iPhone.
