IPhone/iPad Calendar future sync

How far into the future will the Calendar App sync between devices. Actual calendar is on gmail account. If ai add an event in more than a year ahead it doesn’t seem to sync across the devices. Seems to stay in the calendar on the device it was entered on.

recurring events seem to go on for ever with no issues

Hi Dcjsimons01,

It is possible to adjust how often your calendars update through settings. From the support article If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync:

"Change how often your calendars update:

  1. Tap Settings, then tap Calendar.
  2. Tap Sync.
  3. If All Events is selected, choose a specific timeframe instead, like Events 1 Month Back. If a specific timeframe is selected, choose All Events instead.
  4. Return to your Home Screen.
  5. Wait a few minutes, then open the Calendar app. Tap the Calendars tab, and swipe down to refresh.

Since the iCloud Birthdays calendar updates daily, changes to birthdays might not appear in the Calendars app until the next day."

You can also tap Settings, Accounts, then Fetch New Data to access Fetch and Push settings. Not all services support Push, and the Fetch interval can be configured at the bottom of that screen.

Regards.

Thanks for the information, Dcjsimons01. Have you made sure your device is updated? This can help with making sure your device has the most recent settings: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Regards.
