lost recovery key but I didn’t place it ? What to do

As long as you have access to your Apple ID and password and to one of your trusted devices you can generate a new recovery key
Do this by following these instructions.
- Log in with your Apple ID https://appleid.apple.com/
- Go to security and passwords
- Select recovery key>replace lost key
