Rotated photos in screensaver is still a problem

Starting with one of the recent Mac OSX versions (Big Sur??), some photos appear rotated 90 degrees in screensaver from what they are in the Photos app. This is true for all of Apple's standard photos screen savers (Floating, Flip-up, Reflections, Origami, Shifting Tiles, Sliding Panels, etc.). My screen saver is set to use a "Photos" album that I created for about 4,000 photos that i want to appear.

I have had this problem for about 3 years, ever since getting my 27" iMac in January of '21. I had been in touch with live support, even spending long hours on the phone with them, and nothing was ever resolved. I keep hoping that every time we get an update the issue will be addressed, but nothing. During my phone calls I was assured by whomever I was in contact with that Apple was aware of the problem and was "working on it". It seems not to be the case apparently.
