My IPhone 13 hasn’t had any work done to it. It was fine until I downloaded and installed the latest update from Apple, then I got the message about my camera. Now my camera doesn’t function as it should. This isn’t a hardware problem.

When will Apple issue a fix? This unknown part message has caused my camera to not function properly. I haven’t had any work done to it.

This is a software problem, not a hardware problem. It happened after I did the latest update install.

iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 16

Parts and service history

With iOS 15.2 and later and iPhone XR, iPhone XS models, and later—including iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation)—you can go to Settings > General > About for the parts and service history of your iPhone. You can also find out if the battery has been replaced. If the replacement was done using genuine Apple parts and processes, "Genuine Apple Part" will appear next to Battery.

Thanks for copying and pasting a paragraph from an Apple article about genuine parts but it’s not at all helpful with regards to fixing the issue apparently many of us are experiencing where we have mostly newer phones such as my iPhone 13 Pro bought new and has not had any work done to it yet when I opened to use my camera one day after update I observed it struggle to focus then go black causing me to have to close the camera and restart it to get an image then the error warning about unknown part appears and I have to now invest my time taking it into a Genius Bar appointment to try and fix the issue. Please only post helpful comments that speak to a solution or cause… don’t just post what we can all find on Apple support to boost your level.
