I do not recieve ask to buy notifications on my iphone, but I do receive them on my mac. I am signed into both with the same account. Can anyone help with why they do not appear in the notification centre on my iphone?

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to get Ask to Buy requests on your iPhone, but you do see them on your Mac. To begin with, let's check settings:
"On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap your name.
3. Tap Family Sharing.
4. Tap your family member's name, then tap Ask to Buy. In iOS 15 or earlier, tap Ask to Buy then tap your family member's name.
5.
6. Turn on or off Require Purchase Approval. "
We also want to have you check the Messages app and see if this Ask to Buy request shows there:
"Where to find your Ask to Buy requests
If you miss an Ask to Buy notification, you can find the request in Messages on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, or Mac. If you don't see the request in Messages, you can find your Ask to Buy request in Notification Center. "
