iPhone 11 Pro shuts down randomly, either hardware or software senses battery power instantly goes to fully discharged

My iPhone 11 Pro randomly shuts down, exhibiting signs of a dead battery. The battery however is not discharged and may have as much as 80% or more charge remaining. I have contacted Apple Second Level Support and after attempting to run diagnostics they concluded that it is a hardware issue. I am including a screenshot of the battery level which shows the battery appears to discharge instantly and then 2 hours later after a power off - power on cycle the battery again shows 80% charge. Has anyone else experienced this behavior?

For iPhone 11 models, you can check if the battery has been replaced. (A non-genuine Apple battery can cause the problems you describe.) Go to Settings > General > About

...Does it say anything there about the battery?

I bought this iphone from Amazon. I recently learned that the seller was actually BuySPRY, I thought I was buying from Amazon. The maximum capacity showing in the Settings/Battery is 100% fully charged so this does not seem to be a discharged battery problem. It appears to be either a hardware issue or a software issue which is misinterpreting the battery level.
