IMessage Text Box Disappears in 1 of my group chats

I am only having this issue with one of my group chats. It has been going on for a few weeks now. Randomly I lose my text box and am not able to respond in the group but I can see all the new messages come in. We have tried removing and re-adding me into the group, i keep my phone updated, phone turned on and off, all of that. I have noticed I am able to reply in the group on my iPad but have the same issue on my Macbook. It was suggested to me to do a factory reset. Is that my only option?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16

I have that issue as well. I tried restarting a few times but it didn't work. I didn't want to delete the group chat so I tried this instead:

Go to Settings>Messages
Turn iMessage off then back on again**
Open messages app and go to the group chat with the missing text box and it should be back

**I actually turned iMessage off and then went to the group chat to see that the text box came back. Then I went back to settings and turned iMessage on before returning to the group chat - it should work either way.
