Lap Swimming with Apple Watch Ultra

Any suggestions as to best way to end a swim workout in the pool with the AW Ultra? Since the water lock is active, you can't just swipe. Pressing the activation button triggers a rest period rather than ending the workout. Pressing the crown and the side button simultaneously works but also takes a screen shot, which is annoying. I can live with that but am wondering if anyone has found a better option. It would be nice if the activation button could be programmed for swimming to end the session.
