Dictate/Siri on macOS is disappointing, Apple, please fix

The various changes that Apple macOS has introduced mean that Dragon, which has been the best dictation software for over 20 years, is no longer available. Apple's own version is severely flawed by the fact that it is random in allowing corrections, gets stuck on the wrong spellings, and no correction is possible on Microsoft applications. That means every time it gets wrong on a Microsoft application it "learns" that its try is the correct spelling because it is not told that it is the wrong one. This profoundly fails the accessibility community. It also profoundly fails those who want the productivity of dictation. Apple brand and design was based on an intuitive approach and this is not intuitive and it is not smart design. It is inept. Having made these statements, I would be delighted if any member of this community can point out how these problems can be overcome.

We are fellow users and Apple (other than the community hosts) nor Apple Product teams participate here. We cannot fix Apple's dictation issues or its design, as that would need to originate with its product team. You can appeal directly to the macOS product team about features and improvements you wish to see in dictation.

Aside from using a quality microphone at arms length in a low or no noise environment, speaking clearly without long pauses, without other applications competing for CPU load, and having a reasonably reliable network connection (as spoken content is sent to Apple servers), there is not much more you can do to improve the Apple dictation experience as it is currently implemented.

There is Dictate messages and documents on Mac - Apple Support section from the macOS Big Sur Users Guide if that can be of further guidance.
