Touch ID is not working

On my iMac Ventura, 13.4 the touch ID is no longer working since the last update please fix this thanks.

Touch ID is grayed out. The option to use Touch ID on my iMac 24 with the wireless keyboard is grayed out. It was working fine until I returned home after a three week trip and now can't get it to work. I have the latest version of OS Ventura 13.5.1 and the problem may have started after the recent upgrade.
