MacBook cursor drag query

Is there any way to stop the feature on MacBooks where when you drag something the cursor just holds onto the window? For example, in windows laptops when you drag a window it stops automatically when you stop dragging, in my Mac it doesn’t?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.1
