My child is 12. I am trying to allow him to make in app purchases with his own money. When I click on his icon in the App store there is no option to add money to his Apple ID. What am I doing wrong?

Go to App Store. Click on the right top corner to access your son’s ID. In the blue color you will see a title “Add funds to your apple ID”. You can click on that link and add money. Since your son is just 12, kindly ensure to add smaller amount as kids are not aware of how to spend money. They’re innocents.
