I like my Apple Watch face that shows traditional time, with moon phase, timer, compass, and day on the four corners for fast access. Without prompting, it has started switching to compass by itself. How do I get it back to the desired traditional time face?
On your iPhone, open the Watch App. Tap General. Scan down till you see Return to Clock. Tap that and choose Always.

If the compass keeps coming back and you don't want it to, do as lobsterghost1 says then
look for Compass in the list below it
in the "When in Session" section,
turn off "Return to app"
That worked but only by closing out the compass and steps option multiple times. That may mean that it took the Apple Watch to receive the message from the phone. Thanks.
