How to send shape behind text in Pages?

I can't find an option to send shape behind text. When I use move to the backward layer it's still in front of the text.

The only option that kind of works is Arrange > Section Layouts > Move Object to Section Layout, but it creates another issue. Every shape that was moved to Section Layout is now multiplied on every page.

So the question is, how to send a single shape behind text? It's so simple in Word. Am I missing something?

Start with a template that produces a "Page Layout" document.

Text in a Page Layout document must be placed in a container—usually a text box, but it could also be placed in/on a Shape. Text added to a text container may expand the container, but will NOT cause Pages to create a new page to accommodate the text (as it does for text in the Text level of a Word Processing document.

Shapes (and other objects) can be placed behind objects containing text. Those objects may have Text Wrap turned on by default. If so, you'll need to select the object, click on Format, and set Text Wrap to 'none'. The setting change applies to only the object selected.

Barry
