If you have and use a second Gmail account

that could've been used to help in Recovery.

(For iOS devices, 'official Google' has fairly OK app

for Gmail; but seemed unavailable for macOS. I did

find Gmail iOS app satisfactory, except some ads.)

Backup the eMails:

Export eMail from Another Device: Power off your router to avoid network access. Then boot up another device associated to the same account. Then, export your mail. Once exported, import it to the account, import them once all is backup and syncing.

1. Go Here: Import or Export Mailboxes in Mail on Mac - Apple Support.
2. Scroll to: Export mailboxes
3. Proceed from there as necessary.

That would be something you’d have to take up with Google.
