Email replies on iPhone comes to me, not the sender.

This is an annoying bug on the mail app on the iPhone. When I receive an email and hit reply, the email routes to me and not the sender.

As soon as I hit “send” I’d have a new email, and it’s my email reply, somehow the mail app auto populates my own email address when I hit reply, not the sender. I’ve checked the mail settings, there isn’t an option for this behavior, so why does this happen?

Its so bad, I hit “reply all”, then the senders email will populate in the CC box.

There has to be a solution for this.

Hi Jadaku,

Re: "Email replies on iPhone comes to me, not the sender".

Wondering which iOS version you have installed on your iPhone: Updating may help:

Eg: About iOS 16 Updates - Apple Support says iOS16.5 is the latest version

If you have already updated to iOS16.5, you might want to try restarting your iPhone.

Restarting will often clear the way, or restore order if something is not working right.

If you still need help with the issue of eMail replies:

Wondering if you are using the "Mail" app, or a third-party (non-Apple app).

Eg: For Mail: You could check in Settings > Mail to see if anything needs changing:

You could also check your "Contacts" app to make sure the people you eMail are listed there correctly (and are not blocked)

(You may have a setting in place that only people in your contacts can contact you.)

For a third-party (non-Apple) Mail app: You may need to check with the provider.

Trouble-shooting: If needed:

Eg: You could try removing your email account, and setting it up again
