Macbook Air 2023 M2 Does Not See External Hard Drive

Macbook Air 2023 used to see external LaCie and Seagate harddrives attached to a hub but no longer sees them.

Disk Utility does not even see any of the drives. Both external drives work find in older Macs and used to work ok on the new Macbook Air M2.|

Have checked preferences to indicated showing hard drives, have allowed devices to be connected, have shut the computer down for 30 seconds, have switched ports for the hub, and restarted and have tried all of the standard fixes with no luck.

Disk repair/utility does not show the drives. Any help would be most appreciated.

What happens if you connect the drives directly to the Mac? Do they show up and work fine?

If so, that tells us that it is something about going through the hub that is triggering the problem. On the other hand, if things don't work when you plug them in directly, it would make sense to troubleshoot that first before trying to get the more complex configuration (the one that includes the hub) working.
