Images won't display in iMessage

Hi. I have an issue that cropped up a week or so ago, where certain images people send me won't display in iMessage on my iPhone 12 Pro. It seems like it may be specific to the TIFF format. I've tried resetting network settings, restarting the device and updating to the latest iOS version 16.5. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Were these sent from an Android device using MMS?

Probably the image is corrupted.
