audio buzzing/fuzzy when speakers are plugged into 3.5mm jack (aux) and external monitor plugged in to hdmi

This issue has plagued me both through an M1 and M2 Macbook Pro. I have very nice speakers plugged in via the headphone jack and have always had a buzzing sound when I'm hooked up to a video monitor through an HDMI switch or just straight plugged into the laptop.

I tried all the various solutions of resetting things, switching cables, changing monitor frequencies, etc...

Until...I remembered back to my professional audio class days.

Buzzing, clicking, scratching noises can come out of your speakers if they are plugged into the same plug or strip as your computers, monitors, or other equipment. Try a different outlet and see if that helps. It completely resolved my problem.
