Receiving emails that are not meant for me

Yesterday I received an email from "service@intl.paypal.com" saying that I owed $1,299" to PayPal. The "To:" field in the email header was "member5@mitchellmart.store", which is NOT my email address!!

Today I received two emails from other individuals apparently responding (harshly) to similar emails. Both emails again had "email@email.store" in the "To:" field.

I have not had a PayPal account for many years and never attached to my current email address.

How does "email@email.store" get forwarded to my email?

How can I stop it?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

It's spam. Your email got on someone's list somewhere, somehow for some reason.

There is little to do about it. Delete it and move on. There's no stopping it, unfortunately.

Yes, it's a pain in the behind, but we all have to deal with it to some degree until some genius figures out how to control it.

Some senior members here will recommend Spam Sieve or Spam Cop (?) as being helpful. I can't speak for those as I don't use either. But you can look them up and see if they may be something you're interested in.
