My iphone 14 appears to dial itself when connected to car bluetooth. This happens in my Lexus & my husband's truck. I am not using navigation and the screen shows a call being made to my number, but my phone doesn't show a call being made.

I just got an iPhone and I’ve got the same problem. I had a Samsung phone before and it never, not even once, had this problem! So it’s definitely not an issue with the car’s connection.

It most certainly does call itself, mine did about 4 times at least in my Honda SUV

This just began happening out of the blue to me yesterday. 2014 VW Tiguan (no CarPlay) with iPhone 15 running iOS 17.5.1. Every 5 mins when playing the radio, the audio cuts out and the car displays that my phone is calling my number. My phone doesn’t register a call taking place. I cannot end the call unless I open the phone app and attempt to make a new call and then hang it up.
This doesn’t happen when I am playing Apple Music from my phone through the cars system.
Anyone k ow a fix other than turning off Bluetooth?

That's not a fix. That's a tech support script to get rid of you so the next time the problem happens somebody else can deal with it. It doesn't describe why the problem happened or why resetting the connection would make it not happen again.
Apple fixed the (b***) dial problem with software and it will need to fix this by adding software that prompts you or disables auto-dial. Pretending there's a fix just lets more years go by without a real fix.
I had an Iphone 11 pro max and then upgraded to an iphone 14 pro max. I connected them both to my Ford Ecosport via bluetooth. No issues with the iphone 11. In the last say month every time a make a manual call on the phone, while connected to the car via bluetooth, approximately 4 minutes later the phone makes a call on its own. This has happened a dozen times already. It’s only started happening since the last couple of upgrades
Since disconnecting the battery on the car for an unrelated issue recently this issue has gone. I no longer get the calling on its own which suggests it could be more to do with the bluetooth car system than the phone
Mines not connected to carplay. It’s connected via bluetooth and it does dial numbers on its own. It’s about 4 mins after I make a call. It then seems to ring random numbers in my contacts list. I dial a number to allow me access to the complex where I live. Evey time I call for the barrier to raise, 4 minutes later I’ll here someone on the other end shouting hello.

My iPhone, when disconnected from AppleCarPlay started dialing my number on its own. I’d hang up the call on the car screen and it would just redial my number over and over again and again. I had to turn the phone off to get it to stop. I’d post the pictures but don’t want my name and number on a public forum.
It’s happening with my wife’s iPhone 13 Pro too. Not mine, confusingly.
As soon as her phone connects to the car via bluetooth, the car shows it is in a call with her phone itself. Pushing “end call” on the infotainment screen does not end the call. The phone does not show any call happening.
If this was supposed to be a fix, It didn’t work. Please try again. This is so annoying!
