Why can’t you pair 4 HomePods to Apple TV?

Is anyone else curious/wondering why you aren’t able to pair 4 HomePods for full surround sound to Apple TV?

To Apple and the community, could it be 4 large homepods? Or could it be 2 large and 2 small and give you the ability to place two behind you?
