iMovie 10.3.5 on M2 fails to export first time.

MacBook M2 MacOS 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a) iMovie 10.3.5. Fails on the first export to file. Works on the second attempt. Wondering if this is due to USB C drives not waking correctly from sleeping. How do I see a more detailed error message from iMovie? Thank you very much.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.3

Are you getting an error message at present? If so, what are its exact words?

Meanwhile, you might try deleting preferences. Open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new empty library. If so, reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Possibly you may need to reboot to set the changes.  Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.

You can also try creating a new project and see if the export function works correctly there.
