Why does the letter cursor shift when I'm texting someone? The cursor skips to different parts of the already written txt, or shifts next to name of destinee, at the same time the text gets green or blue-shaded. Finally, the skipping letter cursor causes, at times, the erasure of person's name to receive my text. Mine is a 13th gen-model, about a month old.

Two things come to mind as possibilities. 1) You are touching the screen in more than one place. 2) Your touch screen is failing. I would recommend that you contact Apple and have them run diagnostics.
