I can’t hear phone calls on iPhone unless on speaker

When I try to talk on my iPhone 12 max I can barely hear the person I’m talking to unless I turn on speakerphone or have AirPods in. Help!

Other person can't hear me when I make calls from iPhone 13 after updating to iOS 18.1 I have an iPhone 13 and I updated to iOS 18.1 yesterday. When I receive or place calls, I can hear the person but they can’t hear me. I tried my phone, speakerphone, AirPods, and my car Bluetooth and nothing works. Voice memos work and FaceTime audio works. I’m only experiencing this issue with calls. I’ve restarted my phone several times and nothing works. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support
