Controlling Audible and Spotify from watch

Are you able to control any audio from the Apple Watch or does this issue only occur with these specific apps? Isolating the issue further would help us out.

To test the issue, we'd recommend using the Music app on your Apple Watch. Do you see controls for the music showing up when you playback content? If so, the feature may not be provided by these apps themselves. Ensure that the devices are all completely up to date and that the apps are updated, as well for the latest fixes:

• Update your Apple Watch
• How to manually update apps on your Apple device

In case the issue continues to occur, are you playing this content offline or streaming it? Do you see the controls for these apps on your paired iPhone? As these answers will help us moving forward to provide a solution.

In the last week or so both my Audible and Libby app are either not opening on my watch or when they do, the on-screen buttons/functions do not do anything. I was able to pause the app with the hand motion double tap but that quit working too. I did a shut down and restart as well as a full erase and reset of the watch with restore from backup neither of which has helped. Now the apps do not open at all when using them on my phone. I tried manually opening Audible while it was playing on my phone to see if it would connect/sync and I got an error that a license cannot be retrieved. All of my devices and apps are fully up to date. iPhone 14 ios 17.3.1 and watch series 9 10.3.1. Please help!
