Using Contacts - Cursor loses focus

I have seen this issue of the "note" field spontaneously losing focus persist over many versions of MacOS over the last several years.

The workaround seems to be clicking on the "edit" button for the contact to put the entire card into "edit" mode before typing in the "note" field.

Another option is to use a 3rd party contact editor such as Cardhop to edit the contact.

FWIW I have filed a product feedback to Apple, I hope they correct this issue.

Start now and open an Apple Support Ticket as they are Apple Employees to deal will these types of issues . 

2 - Product Feedback - Apple and make it known to Apple regarding this ongoing issue 

I just ran a test and I didn't lose focus in the Notes section of Contacts 5 seconds had expired without typing. HOWEVER, after clicking on the Edit button I never lost focus even after 30 seconds. So give that a try. I'm running 13.4 so you might want to update to that as it fixes a number of other issues

That is possible.

Though 13.4 did get an RSR ( Rapid Security Response ) update to version 13.4.1(c) which was superseded by current version 13.5 released July 14, 2023

There were more Bug and Security fixes in 13.5 which may have fixed the corruption you reference earlier

May or may not be helpful but....Check System Settings, Accessibility, Mouse Controls. Experiment with those settings to see if it helps.

Good and it is always a good idea to keep the computer up to date
