HOW TO Connect Yamaha Genos to Logic Pro X to record midi

You need to connect your synth either using a midi cable (synth > midi cable > midi interface > usb > computer)

or

using USB directly (synth > usb cable > computer) ,

in both cases you might need to install a driver recognizing USB. Please, read the synth manual.

It has to be recognized by the computer or to be more precise by Utilities > Audio Midi Setup.

Have you done a setup for your midi in Logic?

Logic Pro>Control Surfaces>Setup. This will open a window to add your midi device. Select New and try the different option for your device. If you are connected using USB it should find it pretty easy,. If using midi cables, it might be harder.
