FaceTime call

I FaceTimed someone on their request. When the FT call was picked up their face was in both screens. The big screen was a screen shot of some sort of the Individual. The individual was also in the small screen where my image should of been. They were moving and talking just fine. It was like I was watching the person talk to someone. Is there any explanation to this? If anyone has an explanation or needs a deeper understanding I would like to somehow show the image that I’m talking about.

Hi Malc1207,

Is it possible you were added to a Group FaceTime call?

Here's what how that works:

Use Group FaceTime on your iPhone or iPad

Let us know if that solves your concern.

Malc1207,

For your privacy and security, that wouldn't be necessary. We wouldn't want to speculate into what may or may not have happened, but if you still have issues or see it happen again, try troubleshooting the FaceTime app itself which can clear up small issues like what you were experiencing.

  1. Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  2. Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

If you have concerns over the legitimacy of the contact, be sure to block them to prevent them from contacting you: Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you feel this might be a privacy concern, be sure to report it directly so it can get to the right team: Report a security or privacy vulnerability - Apple Support

Take care.
