How do I paste copied items in iCloud Notes

I used to be able to do this using my mouse. This then stopped and I was then able to use keyboard shortcut - Ctrl + V, now that is also stopped - what is going on here?

Windows, Windows 10

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies - my apologies for the delay in responding.

I am still having the same problem - both with Windows and Chrome. Paste is not working either using the mouse or keyboard, I have also tried with Chrome but no success.

I find that if I want to transfer data from, for example One Note to iCloud Notes I can do it by using my iPad. Not the same accuracy as using a mouse but then.

I can transfer data quite easily from One Note to Outlook Notes using my mouse.

Apple there is something wrong.

Hi JCraig99,

To confirm, this is at iCloud.com, is that right?

If so, iCloud.com uses the same Ctrl-C to copy and Ctrl-V to paste as most of the rest of Windows. If that isn't working, confirm those shortcuts do work in a different website or app. If they don't, it might be an issue with your keyboard.

If they do, we'd recommend clearing out your browser history and cookies, then try again. This will vary by browser, but generally it'll be under the browser settings. For Microsoft Edge, see the steps here:

Cheers!

Hello JCraig99,

What internet browser are you using? Can you download Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox and see if the same thing happens in another browser?

Also, what Windows version is on your PC?

Does it not work only with this one iCloud Note? Or all Notes?

Also, where are you copying from? Some websites and documents do not allow copy, which in turn would not allow paste, and also would not show the paste option in the Edit menu as nothing is copied. Test this with other documents, other web pages, and other items, specifically from Apple.com or Apple documents.

Let us know those answers and any other isolation you can provide. Thanks.

Hi DerekM87

Thanks for responding. The Ctrl-V short cut does work - I copied your reply and used it to paste into word. The mouse buttons also work. I had the problem pasting into iCloud Notes, using the mouse, some years back and one of the Apple techies suggested using the keyboard shortcuts. This worked fine until a few months back. I can still transfer things but it is complicated - I have to save to a document on my iPad Mini or iPhone and then open there, copy from that doc and then paste on the Apple machine into iCloud Notes. Very laborious and quite difficult as accuracy for either copying or pasting is not the best. I'm always looking for an easy answer.

Thanks

JC
