Add sub folders to email with Ventura 13.3.1

I recently purchased an M2 Mac Mini and am running Ventura 13.3.1. I can no longer create sub folders in Mac Mail. I upgraded from the last version of Catalina and was able to accomplish the task with Catalina. Help!

Hi Randall_2023, thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I have tried all of the normal measures to no avail. That's the issue, I'm thinking that there may be a glitch with Ventura or else Apple, in their infinite wisdom, somehow changed the format. I was able to do it with Catalina before I "upgraded", and I use that term loosely, to Ventura.

dialabrain, it just won't work. I follow the normal procedure as normal and as I always did in Catalina and I actually do get the little arrow to the left of the primary folder, but it's very brief and then disappears as does the newly created sub-folder. Maybe it's something in my settings that I'm not aware of, but I've always been able to create sub-folders until I started using Ventura.
