AppleTV screen saver as art - how to turn off transitions or make still frame?

We are trying to use the AppleTV screen saver as TV art.

We followed Apple support’s steps to set up the image we want to use.

How do we turn off the transitions? Or make the screensaver a still frame?

Are the transitions necessary for a screensaver?

Any other ways to do this?

Thank you!

The screen saver is meant to cycle between multiple images at a set interval (2–20 sec.). You can of course set an album with e.g. one image and transition Classic–Dissolve. Then that would appear static.

Transitions can be configured in the Settings for the screen saver.

I see that now too. It was different back in May (tvOS 16.4.1).

It seems that the fade to black happens at the end of the loop. For the time being, you could minimize this effect by setting the duration to max (20 sec. per image), and adding a number copies of the same image to use in the album.
