I received my Studio Display here in India. It came with a 16A plug. Unfortunately, we do not have any UPS with 16A output. I read that the power consumption for the display maxes at 35W, further validated by the below table given in Apple's Product Environment Report:
Can I use a 15A to 5A adapter and connect the Studio Display to a 5A socket on the UPS?
Thanks for the prompt answer. But I was considering UPS primarily to avoid disruptions to online meetings due to power cuts. Do you feel it's risky to use a convertor/ adapter?
Also, what do you mean by stress testing?
No. Avoid UPS, the display won’t be harmed by sudden, even frequent power outages and will recover automatically (provided the outages don’t amount to stress testing).
What’s it connected to? Switch to a mobile device if not a MacBook. Yes, risky, may void warranty, repair could be billed. Avoid.
It is connected to a MacBook Pro, so that is already taken care of. Thanks, will stay away then.
