iPhone hotspot will not connect to Mac

Every time I click on the option to pair my iPhone hotspot with my MacBook Air under the wifi symbol, I get a message that states “Personal hotspot failed to connect.” However, it works perfectly fine with my iPad. Both my Mac and iPhone have the latest versions installed, and I have already tried restarting the devices, logging in and out of iCloud, and resetting the network. Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you ever get this resolved. I’m having the same problem. My iPad will connect just fine but my MacBook fails to connect. Also, other devices will connect such as a Windows PC or family members iPads.
