WhatsApp backup and iCloud backup

Does my iPhone iCloud backup contain my WhatsApp chat history? Or it only backs up the settings of WhatsApp without the message threads?

my I have my auto backup on WhatsApp turned off as well as my end to end encryption, but I have WhatsApp turned on on iCloud backup. Does that mean that my chat history can be restored if WhatsApp back up is off but iCloud backup for WhatsApp is on?
