Quick Note resizes automatically

I started using the quick note feature for jotting down things to remember. But if the notes app closes and restarts the note gets resized so that the first line is full but if any line is longer than the first line you cant see it. Is there a way to set the default note size or resize the note?

Hey legist1007,

Here are the steps provided in the iPad User Guide: Create and format notes on iPad - Apple Support

Create and format a new note
1. Tap the New Note button, then enter your text.
2. The first line of the note becomes the note’s title.
3. To change the formatting, tap the Format button.
4. You can apply a heading style, bold or italic font, a bulleted or numbered list, and more.
5. To save the note, tap Done.
Tip: To choose a default style for the first line in all new notes, go to Settings  > Notes > New Notes Start With.

Also, you mentioned that the text changes after it’s closes and restarted. Is the Note app closing unexpectedly, or are you purposely closing it?

All the best.

I have this same issue. Unfortunately, SnickZ seems to misunderstand the problem. The OP's issue relates to using Quick Notes with an Apple Pencil on an iPad when taking handwritten notes. It has nothing to do with formatting notes. Since I am also having this issue, let's try again.

To create the problem:

  1. Make certain you have the option "Resume Last Quick Note" set in the Setting for the iPad Notes app
  2. Open a Quick Note by dragging from the Bottom Corner.
  3. Take some handwritten notes with the Apple Pencil filling up the horizontal width of the Quick Note.
  4. Click Done to close the note.
  5. Drag the Quick Note open again from the Bottom Corner.
  6. You will now see that the display of the note has Zoomed to a larger size, cutting off much of the handwritten text.

You can see the problem clearly in the OP's posted picture, where a good portion of the handwriting in the Quick Note is cut off on the right hand side and is not visible or accessible.

The OP is asking how to resize the Quick Note so that the hidden text can be displayed. I have that same question.

Thanks for any assistance!
