I can't change settings, I as the settings reset with the window changing. The is a brand new out of the box M2 16/16 WiFi works fine. All of my other computers work on the same ethernet cable. All computers are on the same router, network, OS (12.2.1). I have tried 'Delete Service' and restarted and re-added service to avail... Ethernet switches on/off like a ticking hand on a clock

II. Try a New Admin User:
What happens when you create a new administrator user, and log into it? Do you still get this error? If not, then it is likely an error with the current user. If so, then it is likely an error with your Mac.
III. Clear Temporary Internet Files:
Boot into Safe Mode and then Clear your Temporary Internet Files of Safari:

TheLittles/hcitas, thank you for the rapid response! I should have iterated that I tried all of that before I troubled the community. I was just so exasperated. I have purchased so many work stations over the years from high end crazy stuff to just 'snow balls' for the front desk - but I've NEVER had an ethernet fail, especially out of the box! Luck would have it that I had a 'UNI' USB-c to Ethernet patch in my kit-o-parts and... problem solved - for the moment (just shy of gig speed-tho it is running a little hot between Synology/FCP/StudioDisplay. Again, THANKS for the rapid responses. So, my guess is that adding the 'Ethernet Upgrade'... not such a good call. PS I tried 18" round cable and 25' flat cable - with the UNI convert NO difference
