Find nearby attractions in another location Apple Maps

I find a location to which I'll be traveling in Apple maps, and I tap on the search bar, and select "restaurants" or "hotels" or whatever, but it only shows the "attractions" near where I am now, not the location to which I've located on the map. And whenever I click on the arrow icon in the upper right corner, it only takes me home, not to the location which I've found and that I'm looking at. Any suggestions?
