Can't login to my icluod

I have a MacBook Pro 2019 with 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a) installed. When I go to my system settings and click on iCloud Sign-in I entered the user name and password correctly (as I recently changed them so I'm sure), then nothing !

it shows the Apple ID and password blank , touch ID is not working too, so I logged out of my Mac and logged in again with no luck.

I went through the process to create a new user to see if the problem on my local profile and yes it works , I can logged in to my icloud again, so I returned to my admin user and delete the whole new profile, test login again with no luck.

You've done some great troubleshooting steps so far. To continue troubleshooting the issue, we recommend testing for the issue after booting your Mac in safe mode. Safe mode can help you identify whether issues you’re experiencing are caused by software that loads as your Mac starts up. Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support


If the issue doesn't continue in safe mode, restart your Mac normally and see if the issue continues.

Thank you for your response AND your recommendations.

1) I had restarted my Mac on safe mode, however the same problem persists as I entered my credentials on Settings but the 2 fields of user/pass still blank, nothing happened.

2) When I logged in to my icloud account I still can't receive my verification code on my Mac, so I use text SMS verification on my trusted mobile.

3) I checked under "Devices" and lucky enough I found my Mac was there (truted) but "This device can't receive verification codes".

4) while using my Mac it still pop-up the user password, so I went to my Keychain and manually entered my Mac credentials with no luck.

5) I thought it might be a DNS or I.P issue so I installed a free VPN that switched my I.P and again same problem persists.

6) I tried to log out and log in again but can't find the logout button under my icloud settings !

7) I can recall the problem started after I reset my keychain after many failed attempts to reset my keychain (if that might help).

8) I created another admin account that works fine but obviously I still need my old Mac admin account, whith that been said, I tried to create another icloud account but the problem with the new account as the old account and doesn't made any difference.

We'd like to learn more about what's happening, along with continuing to rule out some other possible causes:


  1. It's still unclear what exactly occurs when you try signing into iCloud on your user account within your Mac. You mentioned being able to enter both your Apple ID email and password, and when you go to sign in, this is the part where it's unclear. What exactly happens at this step? The more details you provide, the better we'll understand what's happening.
  2. You also mentioned something about a verification code as it's required to sign in, but does a separate field show on your Mac to enter this?
  3. What exactly prompted you to need to sign in to iCloud on your user account?

Thank you for helping me out .

I agree with you , let me elaborate each point separately.

  1. on Account Settings , I sign in by providing my icloud username and correct password and instead of showing the icloud options (i.e: logout , change mobile number etc) , I got nothing, literally nothing happened , as shown in my screenshot below, after I entered my user/password:


As you can see the user name field still blank.


2- No separate field show on my Mac that have the verification code, the only way is to send the verification code via my registered mobile, before the problem occured I used to get the verification code pop-up above other apps, but now that doesn't happen anymore, as if I did not signed to my icloud on my Mac.

3- Every 30 minutes I got a verification pop-up on my Mac ask me to enter my user and password , regardless how many times I entered it.

I'm not able to use my icloud storage.

I can't use my fingerprint verification to unlock my Mac.

When I signed in to App Store the same problem persists I'm able to download any App but the Sign in button doesn't show my user name, please check image below (as you may notice I'm downloading an App but the sign in doesn't show my user name:
