Raw photos from Olympus TG6 will not transfer to Photos on my Mac. I use this camera for snorkeling mostly and it’s great! Any help would be appreciated. It recognizes the pics but when I try to Import all, it’s just a blank square with RAW in left

I need help with my pics not transferring from my Olympus TG6 to photos on my Mac. They just come through blank with RAW in the top left corner and numbers and a letter followed by .ORF. I just bought this camera for snorkeling and had no idea this would happen. It did work on my older model Olympus. Thanks!

The issue here is that raw support for each model of camera - and that's model, not brand - has to be added. So this camera is not on the supported list here

Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura - Apple Support

and therefore Photos cannot work with these images.

Options: try convert them to DNG with Adobe's free converter

Use another 3rd party app to manage and process your images. Many 3rd party apps write their own raw decoders, and are subsequently a lot faster than Apple at the job.

The device doesn't even show up on my camera.

I would not expect the computer to show up in your camera. Have you tried using a USB card reader?

I don't know what is meant by downloading a 3rd party app,

It means buying and using an app by some other developer than Apple - there are plenty, and many that specialise in Photo software, unlike Apple for whom is very much a side line these days. Adobe, for instance, On1, or DxO...
