iPhone 14 ProMax Needs Hard Restart Daily

My newish iPhone 14 ProMax has to be hard restarted after being charged with a lightning cable overnight. While it’s a quick fix every morning, I know a $1,000 phone shouldn’t have to restart every morning.

My software is updated and the phone performs normally during the day.

Any solutions known?

Hello clord71,

We would like to see how we can help you with your iPhone after charging issues. Why are you having to force restart the iPhone in the mornings? IS the iPhone unreponsive or frozen? If you test the issue with a different cable, does the issue persist? Which iOS version are you currently running? Go to Settings > General > About for the version. If you are not running iOS 16.4.1, follow the steps in this link to update the iPhone: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.

The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 15.7 or iOS 16.

5.Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."

Cheers!

Hello clord71,

Since you still have an issue, and it seems to be related to your Wi-Fi controller, we recommend reinstalling iOS.

Before reinstalling you should make a backup of your data. You can make a backup in iCloud or Finder/iTunes using this article: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

After your data is backed up, you can reinstall iOS using your computer. The reason we need to use the computer for this step is to get a new copy of iOS installed to your device. Use this article to reinstall the iOS: If you can‘t update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Please pay close attention when you reach step 4. Once iOS is reinstalled, test if the issue is still occurring.

Thanks.
