Family sharing.

Would I be able to check or receive pictures contacts and texts from my son's iPhone while we use the family Share plan?

You could share pictures if you choose to do so. Read the support article: How to use Shared Albums in Photos on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac - Apple Support about about how to share photos. For some things Apple protects privacy, even for children. Contacts cannot be shared with Family Sharing ( What is Family Sharing? - Apple Support ) but you can use Airdrop to send one to another person. in other words, a lotof this is voluntary, not something where you can go into a child's phone and see what they are doing.
