Switching Apple ID's but keeping info

My dad forgot is iphone apple id password and it is associated with a shaw email that he no longer has access to so we can't reset the password. His laptop is under a different email/apple id so I want to switch his apple id on his phone to this other one except I want to keep his contacts and his photos so he doesn't lose them. Is it possible to do this? Somehow save the photos and contacts to the device (or somewhere) and use a new apple id and keep that stuff?
