Do your Part: These are user-to-user forums. Apple rarely reads these forums on their own time as it is. So, provide Apple with feedback on this.  Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more they hear of this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed.

To Provide Feedback:

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: on when you came across this issue, and how you have troubleshot this, thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed form there as necessary

Thank you so much! I wasn't patient enough to wait hours, but even the few minutes I did was aggravating. I love having Apple Support Community, but where is Apple that I pay for all my Apple products on situations like this? Thank you again

Does not work. Oddly enough it did work yesterday on my wife's iPhone but today it happened again and I have repeatedly gone through the 3 steps, even holding down the power key for 10 minutes. The Apple logo never appeared. I see other people have had the same issue. This is not a nuisance problem - a person cannot open their phone and use it. Clearly this is an OS issue.

Do this:

Press and release Top Volume Button

Press and release Bottom Volume Button

Press and hold Power Button until the Apple Logo appears

I tried to do this but the screen is frozen and is unresponsive to touch

My screen was frozen to touch as well but you don't have to touch the screen, just buttons on the side. Don't do the normal shutdown method where you have to swipe to power off, that doesn't work.
