Junk Mail Explosion

Recently, my Junk Mail folder gets a very high number (hundreds) of messages daily. This is unexplainable and now it's more difficult to set rules and filters because apparently the spammers are using AI to generate random "from" addresses and infinite variations on subject lines in the e-mails. I continually block senders, only to be thwarted by the algorithms that generate these nuisance messages. Does anyone have any novel strategies besides continuing to add rules and block senders that could provide some relief from these attacks on e-mail? Thanks in advance for any advice or techniques.

.click, .autos, are both in the address of many spammers.

Do not ever join mass email groups that do not bcc their recipients.

The view menu in Mac OS X Mail lets you add a BCC field. Beauty of BCC, is that a virus that infiltrates mail on PCs will not be able to see the group of addresses to be harvested if there is only one email address in the entire message.
